CHARLOTTE, NC : One person seriously injured in Huntersville crash on southbound I-77 near Gilead Road on Wednesday, 30th January 2019

One person was rushed to the hospital after a crash on I-77 in Huntersville Wednesday afternoon.
The wreck happened before 3:30 p.m. on southbound I-77 near Gilead Road, which is Exit 23. Huntersville firefighters said a person was trapped in a vehicle after that vehicle struck a pole.
From WBTV’s Sky3, it appeared a white sedan struck a pole for the overhead road signs.
The victim, whose name has not been released, was freed from the vehicle and rushed to Carolinas Medical Center with very serious injuries, according to Medic.
Firefighters asked drivers to use caution in the area.
