Monroe,MI : Motorcycle accident victim identified on April, Sunday 22th 2018

Police have identified the motorcycle accident victim as Douglass Roy MacTavish, 28, of Taylor.

He was killed when the motorcycle he was riding at high speeds through the Village of Maybee struck a pedestrian crossing Blue Bush Rd.

Mactavish’s passenger was Samantha Mullins, 26, of Dundee. She and the pedestrian, Denise Kolar, 43, of Milan, remained hospitalized Sunday night with what police describe as non-life-threatening injuries.

The Michigan State Police of the Monroe post reported the motorcycle was traveling westbound on Blue Bush at a high rate of speed. The speed limit through the village is 25 mph. The motorcycle apparently ran a stop sign and struck Kolar, who was crossing Blue Bush. Both riders were ejected.

The investigation is continuing.
