Missouri City, TX :Teen driver plows through fence into neighbor's pool in Missouri City on Monday, June 29th 2015
A teenage driver plowed her parent's car through a neighbor's wooden fence, clipped the house and came to rest in the shallow end of a swimming pool Monday morning in Missouri City. The incident happened around 11:30 a.m. Monday at Glasgow and Middlebrough. The homeowner is a local television news reporter who was working at the time. The driver behind the wheel of the car was one of his neighbors, a 17-year-old girl."She explained that she was trying to make a left turn onto this street here and she lost control of her vehicle, came through the fence and ended up landing in the pool," Officer A. Sonnier, with the Missouri City Police Department, said. The teen's father said she has some minor aches and pains. The silver Lexus she was driving belongs to her parents."She's very shaken but she's fine," Sandra Emanuel said.
Emanuel didn't hear or see the crash, but helped the girl's parents contact the homeowner."They were upset. They said their daughter had an accident and she had driven their car into (the neighbor)'s backyard," Emanuel said. The back of the home sustained quite a bit of damage. Huge chunks of the brick facade around the side corner of the house were torn off. A back window was shattered and the pool was blanketed in motor oil.A wrecker driver hooked a chain to the back of the car and pulled it out of the yard. People are calling it an accident."She missed the actual deep end of the pool. So I would say she's very lucky," Sonnier said.
