Logan,UT : Woman injured in auto-pedestrian crash on September, Monday 11th 2017

A 42-year-old woman received significant injuries Monday morning when she was hit by a car traveling eastbound on 1400 North, Logan police said.

The woman was walking southbound across the street in a marked crosswalk at 400 West at about 10:15 a.m. when the driver of the car passed through the intersection and struck her, according to police.

Capt. Tyson Budge said the driver, who is a recent immigrant to the country, reports he does not own a cell phone and was not distracted by using a device while driving — he just did not see her.

The woman was unconscious when the call to 911 was made. She regained consciousness soon after, but was transported to Logan Regional Hospital where she is reportedly being treated for head and facial injuries and some broken bones.

The incident remains under investigation and citations are pending.
