Davis, CA : Cyclist injured in collision with car on Wednesday, September 27th 2017
A Davis bicyclist was injured Wednesday night in a collision at Fifth and L streets, Davis police said.
According to Lt. Paul Doroshov, the crash occurred at about 7:30 p.m. when the driver, 20-year-old James Gonzales of Sacramento, made a left turn into a parking lot from eastbound Fifth Street and crossed into the cyclist’s path.
Wayne Tilcock, 42, was thrown from his bike and struck his head on the ground, said Doroshov, who noted that Tilcock was traveling in the bike lane and was using proper lighting equipment.
Tilcock was transported to Sutter Davis Hospital for treatment. The crash remains under investigation, Doroshov said.
