Man killed in Metairie crash Monday night

A 54-year-old man was killed in a car accident in Metairie late Monday night, authorities said. According to the Jefferson Parish Sheriff's Office, George Belle, of Metairie, was killed in the single-vehicle accident which occurred shortly before midnight near the intersection of North Causeway Boulevard and 17th Street.Authorities said Belle was driving a Ford F150 about 11:45 p.m., heading northbound in the 3300 block of North Causeway Boulevard when he attempted to turn left on 17th Street, but instead drove over the median, causing the truck to roll onto the passenger side.
