MANATEE, FL : One dead in crash on Sunshine Skyway bridge on February, Monday 26th 2018

A St. Petersburg man was killed in a crash on the Sunshine Skyway bridge in Manatee County late Monday.

The crash happened just before midnight on southbound Interstate 275 near the off ramp for the rest area near the south end of the bridge, according to Florida Highway Patrol.

Joseph Michael Clark II, 39, was heading south in the right lane and lost control of his 2016 Hyundai Accent where the interstate curves to the left, according to a news release. Clark drove straight into the grassy shoulder west of the interstate, hit a sign and rolled over to the left.

Clark was ejected from the car, as it continued to overturn several times before coming to rest, according to the report.
