Ellery, NY : Father, son killed while walking on western NY road on Saturday, December 27, 2014

Police say two people have died after being struck by a car while walking along a road in western New York.

The accident happened around 6 p.m. Saturday in the town of Ellery, about 55 miles southwest of Buffalo. State police say 85-year-old Wesley Lutgen and his son, 52-year-old Benjamin Lutgen, were wearing dark clothing when they were struck on Maple Springs-Ellery Road. Both are from nearby Bemus Point.

No charges are pending.
