WILLOWS, CA : 1 dead in solo vehicle crash in Willows on Thursday, 14th December 2023

The person who died in the solo vehicle crash has been identified as a 38-year-old woman from Orland, the CHP said.

The incident began when the woman was driving a 2009 Nissan truck, north on North Humboldt Avenue approaching County Road 48. The Nissan was speeding and the driver, for reasons still under investigation, failed to bring the Nissan to a stop at the “T” intersection, the CHP said.

The CHP says the Nissan ran off the road and collided with an embankment before overturning several times and colliding with several almond trees in an orchard.

The Nissan came to rest on its wheels facing in a southerly direction. The CHP says the driver was not wearing a seatbelt.

It is unknown if drugs or alcohol were a factor in the crash.
