UNION, IA : Two people were hurt in a single-vehicle accident on Sunday, June 4, 2017

Two people were hurt in a single-vehicle accident Sunday night in rural Worth County.

“It appears that possibly the driver nodded off,” Worth County Sheriff Dan Fank said.

The accident occurred on Highway 9, east of Thrush Avenue, about 10 p.m., according to Fank. That's about 3 miles north of Plymouth.

Both the driver and passenger were transported, one by Mercy Air Med and one by ambulance to Mercy Medical Center--North Iowa. Their names were not released.
