Chesterton, IN : A Chesterton man died on Saturday, June 24, 2017

A Chesterton man died on Saturday after crashing his motorcycle on Ind. 49.
The victim was identified as Christopher Barton, 23.
According to a statement released by Porter County Coroner Chuck Harris, Barton was southbound on Ind. 49, south of U.S. Highway 6, at the time of the accident.
“Witnesses observed the decedent driving recklessly and traveling at a high rate of speed” prior to the crash, Harris said.
Barton was transported to Porter Regional Hospital, where he died of his injuries.
No other vehicles were involved in the accident, Harris added.
