A Louisiana man was injured Sunday night in a two-vehicle crash in southeast Missouri.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol reported Jay S. Thomas, 68, of Louisiana, was driving a 2017 Toyota Camry south at the Mo. 77 and Interstate 55 interchange at 7:43 p.m. when he pulled into the path of a westbound 1997 Jeep Grand Cherokee driven by Cindy L. Dockins, 37, of Benton. Police said Thomas suffered minor injuries and was taken to St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.

Both drivers involved in the crash were wearing seat belts, police said. Both vehicles sustained extensive damage and had to be towed from the scene.
