Austin, TX : Two students were taken to the hospital Wednesday after being struck by a car at Lanier High School in North Austin on May 7th 2014

Two teenagers are injured after being hit by a car at Lanier High School.

Austin-Travis County EMS say two female students were hit by a car around 6 p.m. Wednesday at the school, located at Collinfield Drive and Payton Gin Road in North Austin.

The teenagers were taken to University Medical Center Brackenridge with serious but not life-threatening injuries.

The driver told police the girls walked out in front of the vehicle. Witnesses say they were not using the crosswalk.
