Tahoka, TX : Three people killed in major motor vehicle accident on Highway 87 in Lynn County just north of Tahoka on Monday afternoon, April 6, 2015

Three people died Monday afternoon in a collision that happened around 3:30 p.m. five miles North of Tahoka on Highway 87.

The first victim to be identified is 19-year-old Madison Kate Lockaby from Tahoka. Her family has been notified.

DPS Corporal John Gonzales said the SUV Lockaby was driving was traveling southbound on Hwy 87 when it clipped a pickup. The SUV went across the median into oncoming traffic and hit the RV head-on. The SUV landed on the driver's side and the RV flipped onto its top.

Gonzales said witnesses driving behind the RV tell them both the SUV and RV caught fire shortly after the wreck.

The two occupants in the Chrysler Sprinter RV have been identified as Daryl and Heiki Schueller, both 72 years old, from High River Alberta Providence, Canada. They were driving back to Canada after spending the winter months in Austin with their son.

Authorities shut down part of Highway 87 on Tuesday morning to conduct their investigation.
