Two people were killed in separate accidents in Decatur over the weekend, and police continue to investigate those accidents and another incident in which a driver was injured.
A Somerville man died after being hit by a car Friday night on West Moulton Street, Decatur police said.
William Edward Newsom, 46, was pronounced dead at the scene by Morgan County Coroner Jeff Chunn, police said. Newsom was crossing West Moulton, west of Pine Avenue Southwest, when he was struck by a 1997 Honda Civic about 11:30 p.m., police said.
In another accident, a passenger died after a two-vehicle crash Saturday afternoon on Somerville Road Southeast, according to police.
The passenger who died was 85-year-old Lillian Morris, police spokeswoman Emily Long said. Her address was not available.
