Two pedestrians were killed in separate hit-and-run collisions Sunday.
The first collision happened around 12:30 a.m. on Ellerbe Mill Road in Sumter County, when a pedestrian was hit by a vehicle and killed, according to Lance Cpl. Sonny Collins of the S.C. Highway Patrol. The vehicle then fled, Collins said.
Dwain Wright, 56, of Rembert was killed in the collision. An autopsy is scheduled for Monday.
The second collision happened just after 5 a.m. in Lexington County on Westwood Drive, where a pedestrian was struck by a vehicle that then left the scene, Collins said.
Darrius N. Dreher, 22, of Chapin was pronounced dead at the scene from multiple body trauma after he was struck by an unknown vehicle as he crossed the road near his home, according to Lexington County Coroner Margaret Fisher. An autopsy is scheduled for Monday.
