Plainfield, IA : Tanker truck driver died in after the truck collided with a car crash on Thursday October 16th 2014.
Authorities in Bremer County in northeast Iowa say the driver of a tanker truck has died after the truck collided with a car and rolled onto its top in a ditch.
A sheriff's office statement says 37-year-old James Ruehlow, of Mason City, died Thursday in the accident 2 ½ miles east of Plainfield at an intersection of a state highway and a county road.
Ruehlow's cause of death isn't immediately clear. An autopsy has been ordered.
The truck collided with a car driven by 16-year-old Nicole Manross, of Waverly. She is not injured.
The accident closed Highway 188 for four hours and resulted in a diesel fuel spill from the truck into the ditch requiring cleanup
