Jose Lorenzo Castillo, Salida, died Sunday morning after a wreck on U.S. 285 just south of Nathrop.
The Colorado State Patrol reported in a press release that Castillo was driving a Jeep Wrangler around 2 a.m. when he drifted off the right side of the road and struck a delineator post.
Castillo’s Jeep traveled along a dirt embankment, rotated counter-clockwise, rolled 1¾ times and came to rest the driver’s side.
Colorado State Patrol Trooper Stephen Hall said in the release that Castillo was not wearing a seat belt and was ejected while the vehicle rolled.
He was pronounced dead on the scene.
Hall said drugs, alcohol and speeding were not factors in the crash.
