Aiken,SC : One dead in Aiken County crash on November, Friday 3rd 2017

A Massachusetts man has died following a single-vehicle crash in Aiken County near Williston.

Charles Goodell, 37, of North Adams, Massachusetts, was driving a tractor-trailer north on Tinker Creek Road near Highway 78 when he left the road and struck several trees. Goodell was pronounced dead at the scene.

According to Aiken County coroner Tim Carlton, Goodell was driving for Dolic Trucking LLC of Waterloo, Iowa, and the company said his destination was North Charleston, SC.

Speed is believed to be a factor in the crash. An autopsy is scheduled for Monday in Newberry, SC. The crash remains under investigation by the Aiken County Coroner’s Office and the South Carolina Highway Patrol.
