Cullman, AL : Hanceville woman, 28, killed in Warrior wreck on Saturday, 29th October 2016

A Hanceville woman died after she was thrown from a sport utility vehicle that overturned on I-65 near Warrior.

Alabama State Troopers identified the victim as Alicia Jean Harris, 28, who was a passenger in a 2001 Chevrolet Tahoe driven by Joshua Robert Mentzer, 20, also of Hanceville. Harris was not wearing a seatbelt and died from her injuries at UAB Hospital.

Mentzer was also injured and taken to UAB. A hospital spokesman said he was no longer listed as a patient Monday. The single-vehicle wreck happened 1:37 p.m. Saturday.

The wreck remains under investigation.
