Officer-killed car crash in Atlanta on Cleveland Avenue

An officer-involved car crash Saturday morning left one person dead.

It happened around 1:30 a.m. in Atlanta on Cleveland Avenue.

Investigators said the Atlanta officer was on his way to a call when a van turned into his path. They did not immediately know whether the officer's lights and sirens were activated when the accident happened.

One person in the van died. A second person was taken to Grady Memorial Hospital with serious injuries. The officer complained of minor injuries.

The names of those involved were not immediately released.
