PROVIDENCE, RI : Police officer sent to hospital following Providence crash on Carleton Street, near Atwells and Mount Pleasant Avenues on Tuesday, 5th February 2019

A police officer is in the hospital after a crash early Tuesday morning.

The crash happened just before 3 a.m. on Carleton Street, near Atwells and Mount Pleasant Avenues.

Police say an officer was taken to Rhode Island Hospital. However, the severity of her injuries is unknown.

A police cruiser and another car were towed from the scene. The second car had significant front-end damage.

It is unclear if anyone in the other car was injured.
