Russellville, KY : Three people were injured in a two vehicle injury collision at Interstate 65 On Friday, July 15th, 2016

The Kentucky State Police Post 3 Bowling Green responded to a two vehicle injury collision today at approx. 8:30 am on Interstate 65 at the 65 mile marker northbound in Hart County.

The preliminary investigation indicated that a northbound semi-truck and trailer had stalled in the right lane of Interstate 65 in the construction zone. As the driver and passenger exited the truck to retrieve their safety triangles,

another northbound semi, which was operated by Richard Robinson (31) of Huntingdon, TN, failed to realize that they were stalled and was unable to get stopped and struck the rear of their tractor trailer. After the stalled semi

was struck it collided with the driver, Patricia Reardon (22) of New Laredo, Mexico, knocking her over the guardrail where she sustained injuries.

Both operators, along with Reardon’s passenger, Jose Gutierrez of Laredo, TX, were all transported by the Hart County EMS to Hardin Memorial Hospital for non-life threatening injuries.

The investigation is still ongoing and being led by Trooper First Class Jonathan McChesney. He was assisted on the scene by Trooper First Class Ronnie Reynolds, KSP Commercial Vehicle Enforcement, Hart County EMS,

and the Munfordville Fire Department.
