Tucson, AZ : Pedestrian hurt in middle-of-night collision on Sunday, July 5, 2015

The Tucson Police Department responded to a collision between a vehicle and pedestrian around 12:30 Sunday morning.

A media alert sent at 12:40 a.m. indicated that East Speedway from North Park to North Cherry avenues, and North Mountain Avenue from East First Street to Speedway, would be closed for several hours.

Around the same time, TPD Sgt. Kimberly Bay, a department spokeswoman, tweeted that police were working a "serious injury pedestrian collision" that had the roads blocked, and she said people should find an alternate route.
