Denver ,CO : Colorado State Trooper injured in a hit-and-run crash on Tuesday September 1st 2015

A Colorado State Trooper injured in a hit-and-run crash during a routine traffic stop on Interstate 25 Tuesday morning has been released from the hospital.

Trooper Clinton Stanton, a 12-year veteran of CSP, was completing a traffic stop with a motorist who had lost part of their load, when his patrol car was struck by a suspected drunk driver.

Denver police said Stanton was in his car, with his emergency lights activated, when a white Cadillac, driven by Jose Ramirez, 21, smashed into him just after 5 a.m. on the northbound shoulder of I-25 near 51st Avenue.
