Putnam County, FL : Palatka man dies in car crash on U.S. 17 South near Sungarden Road early Sunday, July 3, 2016

A Palatka man died when his car crashed early Sunday on U.S. 17 South near Sungarden Road in Putnam County.

Roger Mcdaniel, 34, was driving south on U.S. 17 in his Honda Civic when it crossed the center line, ran off the road and overturned in a ditch shortly before 3 a.m. He was ejected partially from the car and died at the scene. He wasn’t wearing a safety belt, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
