Falmouth ,ME:Man killed in motorcycle crash on I-295 Saturday afternoon ,September 5th 2015

A fatal motorcycle crash backed up traffic in both directions on Interstate 295 in Falmouth Saturday afternoon.

According to Steve McCausland, a spokesperson for the Maine State Police, Alexander Small was driving a motorcycle northbound near mile marker 11 at a high rate of speed. Small was unable to slow down before hitting the bumper of a car in front of him, causing him to go directly into a guardrail.

Small was taken to Maine Medical Center in Portland, where he was later pronounced dead.

There are no charges pending for the driver of the car.

Blood results are pending for Small to see if alcohol was a factor in the crash.
