Vero Beach, FL : Three people killed in head-on collision on Interstate 95 in Indian River County on Tuesday evening, December 15, 2015

Authorities say three people were killed in a head-on collision on a central Florida highway.

Local media outlets report that crash occurred Tuesday evening.

The Florida Highway Patrol reports that a pickup truck was traveling north on Interstate 95 in Indian River County when it crossed the median and hit two southbound cars.

FHP says one car's driver, 61-year-old Cleveland Odom, and his daughter, 22-year-old Angelica Odom, died at the scene. The other car's driver, 38-year-old John Weed, also died.

The pickup's driver was airlifted to a Fort Pierce hospital in serious condition. It wasn't immediately clear what caused the crash or if anyone would be cited.
