NUNICA, MI : Fatal 1-car crash on I-96 in Crockery Township on Thursday, 27th September 2018

A Muskegon-area man is dead after a one-car crash on I-96 in Crockery Township on Thursday night.The crash happened at about 7:30 p.m.

Police said 37-year-old Shane Bloomberg of Muskegon Township was driving his Dodge Journey west on I-96 when he veered off the highway, just past the Nunica exit. The car ran up a hill and smacked into the bridge wall for 112th Avenue on the north side of the highway.

Witnesses said the car then burst into flames.

CPR was performed on Bloomberg after the crash, but he was pronounced dead at the scene.
