Edmond, OK : Motorcycle officer involved in crash on Tuesday, November, 28th 2017

Edmond Police shut down Kelly between 15th and Second Street around 5:30 p.m. Tuesday following a crash involving an Edmond motorcycle officer, said Jenny Wagnon, Edmond Police spokeswoman.

The officer, Tim Ivy, was involved in a wreck with one other vehicle. His injuries are not life threatening, she added.

“That officer was transported to have some injuries checked out at OU Edmond,” Wagnon said. She added that he was being kept overnight for observation.

The accident was under investigation; however, the wreck occurred on Kelly and Val Genes Road. Officer Ivy's motorcycle was hit from behind while slowing down as he was driving northbound on Kelly. The driver who hit the officer was cited for careless driving.
