SAVANNAH, NY : 2 killed, 1 injured in Wayne County crash on Sunday, 26th May 2019
Deputies are investigating a crash in Wayne County that left two people dead and another person injured.
Deputies say a vehicle was traveling eastbound on Savannah Spring Lake Road just after 11 p.m. when it went off the road, striking a guard rail and a bridge abutment before landing in Crusoe Creek.
Investigators say 27-year-old Kayla Mettler, of Waterloo, and 32-year-old Michael Schute, of Rose, were pronounced dead at the scene. Cristopher Kirkey, 35, of Rose, was flown to Upstate Medical Center with injuries. His condition is unknown at this time.
Savannah Spring Lake Road will be closed from Van Dyne Spoor Road to Bixby Wood Road, according to deputies.
