Waverly, NE : Two dead, three injured in Lancaster County crash on Sunday evening, November 6, 2016

The Lancaster County Sheriff's Office says two people died in a crash Sunday evening about a mile south of the intersection of Amberly Road and North 148th Street.

The crash happened just after 5:30 p.m. southeast of Waverly High School. At least three ambulances were on scene, including Waverly and some Lincoln Fire and Rescue crews to take people to the hospital.

In a press release late Sunday evening, LSO said a 1997 Honda Odyssey was going southbound and driven by 44-year-old Jeffrey Goettemoeller of Waverly. Also in the van was Jennifer Goettemoeller, 38 years of age, a 13-year-old boy and a 10-year-old girl. Jeffrey was pronounced dead at the scene. Jennifer and the two children were taken to Bryan Medical Center West. Jennifer was in critical but stable condition; the two juveniles were admitted to the hospital with non life-threatening injuries.

LSO said the second vehicle, a 2012 Honda Civic, was traveling northbound, driven by Steven Kriesen. He also was taken to Bryan Medical Center West where he later died.
