One man was killed and two other people were injured when two cars collided in a crash on Arkansas 135 in Greene County Tuesday afternoon, Arkansas State Police said.

A passenger in one of the cars, identified as 22-year-old Jerrod Leisure of Walnut Ridge, died in the wreck, according to a police report.

The report said the accident happened around 4:50 p.m. when a southbound Toyota crossed the center line and struck a northbound Chevrolet head-on.

The drivers of both vehicles were injured and taken to hospitals in Jonesboro and Memphis, police said. Leisure was riding in the Toyota.

The death was the 189th fatality on Arkansas roads so far in 2016, according to preliminary statistics.

Police wrote that conditions at the time of the crash were wet and rainy.
