Winston-Salem, N.C : Matthew Bronson, 35, and Jessica Jones, 31, killed in car crash on Old Salisbury Road in Forsyth County on Wednesday, February 3, 2016

Two people were killed in a head-on crash Wednesday in Winston-Salem.

They have been identified as Matthew Bronson, 35, of Lexington, and Jessica Jones, 31, of Winston-Salem. Bronson was driving a 1996 Chevrolet Cavalier at the time of the crash.

Officials said the Cavalier was traveling southbound on Old Salisbury Road when it crossed left of center and collided with a 1993 Chevrolet van. A third car was hit by debris from the crash.

The driver and passenger of the van both suffered injuries and were taken to Wake Forest Baptist Hospital.

The crash was reported just before 2 p.m. in the 3000 block of Old Salisbury Road near Ridgemeadow Drive.

Part of Old Salisbury Road was closed as a result of the crash.

Veronica White said Winston-Salem police kept reporters about a half-mile from the crash scene for hours.

Next of kin has been notified. The crash is still under investigation.
