An Omaha couple was reportedly trapped in their car for a couple of hours on a county road Saturday morning before a passerby spotted the vehicle and called 911.
Stacy Rogert, 40, formerly of Blair, and Nicholas Williams, 36, were southbound in the 3000 block of County Road P49, Omaha, when their green Ford Fusion sedan left the gravel road and landed on its side against a tree in the ditch. County Road P49 is about 5 miles southeast of Fort Calhoun.
Rogert, who was driving, was trapped inside the car. She said at the scene that they were unable to access Williams' cellphone. Rogert estimated the accident occurred at about 5:25 a.m.
A farmer driving by saw the car in the ditch and called dispatch at 7:32 a.m.
Fort Calhoun Rescue personnel treated the couple for minor injuries at the scene. They were not transported to the hospital.
Deputy David Page said the Washington County Sheriff's Office is still investigating the accident.
