INDIANAPOLIS, IN : 2 teens arrested after crash, pursuit on west side on Monday, 11th September 2023
According to the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department, two teens were arrested early Monday morning after crashing into a police cruiser in a stolen vehicle.
A police report revealed that a 14-year-old and a 15-year-old male were taken into custody after the collision and police pursuit. According to IMPD, the pursuit began after the teens collided with an IMPD cruiser near N. Tibbs Avenue and Lafayette Road. The chase came to a stop near 16th and Main streets where the teens crashed near the Indianapolis Motor Speedway’s main entrance.
IMPD said the teens fled on foot but were eventually caught thanks to the use of drones. The two teenage males face seven charges.
“The question we ask ourselves is what is a 14- and 15-year-old doing out in the community at one o’clock in the morning?” asked Lt. Shane Foley of IMPD. “We need parents and we need adults to be more responsible and more accountable… in keeping their kids accountable.”
