HARRISON COUNTY, TX : Man dead, passenger injured in Harrison County crash on Thursday, 27th December 2018

A Claiborne Parish man is dead following an early morning car crash in East Texas on Thursday.
Authorities say it happened around 12:30 in the morning just two miles west of Waskom on I-20 in Harrison County.
Charles Rashad Benne, of Haynesville, was driving eastbound on the interstate when his car hydroplaned, ran off the road, and hit a tree, according to investigators.
Benne was pronounced dead at the scene. A passenger was also in the car; they were taken to the hospital and are now recovering.
The crash remains under investigation.
