FITCHBURG, WI : Madison man arrested after police pursuit car crash on south west side on Sunday, 20th October 2024

A 21-year-old Madison man was arrested after he allegedly drove off from police and hit multiple cars, Fitchburg PD said Sunday evening.

Around 11:20 a.m. Sunday, an officer saw a car driving recklessly in the area of Fish Hatchery Road and Greenway Cross. Police said the driver allegedly ran multiple red lights and drove into oncoming traffic.

Police tried to pull the driver over, but he did not stop and continued into Madison. The driver allegedly ran another red light and crashed into two vehicles at the intersection of Raymond Road and Prairie Road.

The driver was arrested at the scene of that crash and faces charges for second degree recklessly endangering safety, operating after revoked, fleeing or eluding an officer, police said. The man was also cited for a number of traffic violations.
