Washington, PA : One person was injured in a single-vehicle crash on Monday, September 25th 2017
One person was injured in a single-vehicle crash at 1:35 p.m. Monday on Route 218, about a half-mile south of Waynesburg.
State police on scene said Melissa Detman of Elizabeth, operating a vehicle owned by Peoples Natural Gas, was driving north when her vehicle ran off the road and struck a utility pole.
The pole was sheared off near its base and the vehicle came to rest on a section of the pole that was still standing.
Detman was taken to WHS-Greene hospital with what were believed to be minor injuries. She told police she swerved to avoid hitting a deer.
Waynesburg-Franklin volunteer firefighters were called to assist at the scene.
