Prescott,AZ : Dewey woman killed in 4-vehicle crash on Highway 69 on November, Saturday 25th 2017
A 78-year-old Dewey woman was killed Saturday, Nov. 25, when, police said, she struck a pickup truck “at a high rate of speed” on Highway 69 near Kachina Drive.
According to Prescott Valley Police Sgt, Jason Kaufman, after the Volkswagen Beetle, driven by Joan Heydorn, rear-ended the truck, it continued traveling south and went head-on into a Sport Utility Vehicle (SUV) occupied by a family of four from Cave Creek.
A motorcycle driven by a 61-year-old Humboldt man crashed while trying to avoid the wreckage.
Four people were flown to Phoenix-area hospitals with serious injuries, Kaufman said, and “multiple others were transported by ambulance to the Yavapai Regional Medical Center in Prescott Valley.”
Heydorn was pronounced dead at the scene.
