Dallas, TX : Two drivers suspected of DWI after car traveling wrong way causes crash on Bush Turnpike in Dallas early Monday, June 13, 2016

Two people are suspected of drunken driving after a car traveling the wrong way on the Bush Turnpike in Dallas caused a crash involving three vehicles early Monday.

About 3:20 a.m., state troopers were notified of a GMC Yukon traveling east in the westbound lanes of the Bush Turnpike, near Marsh Lane, said Lt. Lonny Haschel, spokesman for the Department of Public Safety.

Six minutes later, state troopers found a crash on the turnpike east of Marsh Lane.

Investigators believe the Yukon got on the turnpike from the Marsh Lane exit ramp and crashed into a Chevrolet Impala about a half-mile away.

The driver of a Toyota Camry approaching the crash site didn't see the stalled Impala and crashed into it, Haschel said. The Toyota driver was taken to Texas Health Presbyterian Dallas but was not seriously injured.

The Yukon driver was arrested on a charge of driving while intoxicated and taken to the Denton County Jail.

The Impala driver was taken to Medical Center of Plano with non-life-threatening injuries. That driver is also suspected of DWI, though investigators will wait to hear how long the hospital stay might be before determining when to file criminal charges, Haschel said.
