SPARTANBURG COUNTY, SC : Moped rider dies following collision in Spartanburg County on Friday, 31st May 2024

South Carolina Highway Patrol said troopers are investigating following a crash that killed one person Friday.
Troopers said the crash happened along U.S. 176 near Southgate Road at around 11:40 a.m.
According to troopers, the victim was traveling along U.S. 176 when his moped was hit from behind by a pickup truck, knocking him into the roadway. Troopers confirmed that the victim passed away at the scene following the collision.
The Spartanburg County Coroner’s Office identified the victim as 65-year-old Kenneth Reed of Spartanburg.
