Teen dies after being hit by pickup in Mchenry Illinois

A 15-year-old boy hit by a pickup truck in northwest Indiana Monday afternoon died early this morning at a Chicago hospital, authorities said.Jonathan Guzman, of the 9100 block of South Schafer Drive in St. John, Ind., was declared dead at 2:30 a.m. at Comer Children's Hospital, according to the Cook County medical examiner's office.

Jonathan was struck by a white 2012 GMC Sierra about 5:30 p.m. Monday at 85th and Parrish avenues in St. John near Schererville in Lake County, Ind., about a mile from his home, according to a release from Lake County, Ind., Sheriff's spokeswoman Patricia Vantil. After Jonathan was taken to St. Margaret hospital in Dyer, doctors had him transferred to Comer because of the extent of his injuries.

The 50-year-old driver, from Crown Point, was not cited, and the accident is still under investigation, according to the release.
