TOLEDO, OH : Car crashes into Nationwide Childrens Hospital on Thursday, 30th May 2024

No one was seriously injured when a car crashed into a medical office building on the Mercy Health - St. Vincent Medical Center campus.

It happened at the medical campus on Cherry Street Thursday afternoon shortly after 3:00 p.m. According to Toledo Police records, an 81-year-old Bowling Green man hit another vehicle driven by a 71-year-old Wauseon woman, then proceeded to crash into the hallway connecting the parking garage and medical building itself.

Police say building maintenance and contractors checked out the structural integrity of the building. A Mercy spokesperson said they found no concerns with structural integrity but were assessing damage to the glass of the parking garage.

The 81-year-old driver was taken to the emergency room out of an abundance of caution, but was unharmed. No one else was injured in the incident. It’s unclear whether the driver was cited.
