Half Moon Bay,CA : Teens die in solo crash on Skyline on November, Wednesday 1st 2017

Three young men died Tuesday night when their vehicle went over an embankment on Skyline Boulevard south of Bear Gulch Road, according to the California Highway Patrol.

San Mateo County Sheriff’s deputies discovered the Hyundai before 8 a.m. Wednesday and notified the CHP who came out to do an investigation.

It appears that the 2010 Hyundai had been traveling southbound on Skyline Boulevard before veering from the west side of the road, colliding with a tree and resting on its wheels about 50 feet down the hill.

The driver was a 19-year-old Redwood City resident, the passengers were both 18 — one was from Redwood City and the other was from Menlo Park.

Skyline Boulevard was closed in both directions during an on-scene investigation Wednesday morning.

As of early Wednesday afternoon the San Mateo County Coroner’s Office had not released the names of the deceased.

It is not yet known whether drugs or alcohol were a factor in the collision. Any witnesses are encouraged to contact Officer Brian Wester at (650) 369-6261.
