Fort Collins, CO : Man killed in Christmas Eve car crash on Monday, December 26th 2016
A man is dead after a Christmas Eve car crash on South College Avenue.
Police say the 23-year-old rear-ended a city of Fort Collins Transfort bus about 8:20 p.m. near the 5100 block of South College Avenue — about a mile south of the intersection of College Avenue and Harmony Road.
Rescuers took the man to Medical Center of the Rockies, where he died from his injuries.
The incident shut down southbound College Avenue for about three hours while the Fort Collins Police Services CRASH Team investigated. Police suspect alcohol and speed contributed to the crash, according to an FCPS news release.
There were no passengers in either the bus or the blue Ford Ranger the man was driving. His name has not yet been released.
Anyone with information about this crash that has not already spoken to investigators should call Fort Collins police officer Shane Hasebroock at 970-221-6555.
