NEWPORT NEWS, VA : 7-year-old child seriously hurt in Newport News pedestrian accident on Friday, 16th August 2024

A child is seriously injured after being hit by a car on Jefferson Avenue Friday morning.

The Newport News Police Department responded to the scene in the 12000 block of Jefferson Avenue at about 9:06 a.m., according to department spokeswoman Lauryn Moss.

Officers found the 7-year-old boy in the roadway, and he was transported to a hospital with possible life-threatening injuries, Moss stated.
