Ionia, MI : Two women were injured during a head-on collision at The 2300 block of South State Road M-66 On Tuesday, May 10th, 2016
Two women were injured during a head-on collision on M-66 in Ionia Tuesday afternoon.
The Ionia County Sheriff's Office and Ionia Department of Public Safety responded to the accident at 5:02 p.m. on the 2300 block of South State Road. There were no passengers in either vehicle.
One of the women involved in the accident was moved to a Life EMS Ambulance by backboard. The driver of the other vehicle had to be freed of the car by the Jaws of Life.
Both of the cars involved in the crash came to rest in the turning lane of M-66. Ionia County Sheriff's Office Deputy Jason Pattok said it was too early to tell the medical condition of the women as of 5:40 p.m. According to an IDPS Facebook post at 6
p.m., the women's injuries were not life-threatening.
Traffic was backed up on M-66 for about 45 minutes.
