Santa Fe, NM : 37-year-old Santa Cruz woman dies after head-on collision in San Ildefonso Pueblo on Saturday morning, November 29, 2014
The Santa Fe County Sheriff's Office says a woman driving to work was killed after a head-on collision in San Ildefonso Pueblo.
The Santa Fe New Mexican reports that the 37-year-old Santa Cruz woman was traveling south on N.M. 30 early Saturday morning when a Chevrolet Impala going north swerved and crashed into her Chevrolet Cavalier.
Sheriff's spokesman Joe McLaughlin says the victim died at the scene.
McLaughlin says the 36-year-old Los Alamos man driving the Impala lost control and authorities suspect he was intoxicated.
The suspect and his 40-year-old female passenger were airlifted to a hospital and treated for non-life-threatening injuries.
The victim's identity was withheld pending notification of next of kin.
