Pender County, NC : Pedestrian hit and killed by a vehicle on Highway 17 near Christian Chapel Road on Saturday night, May 14, 2016

A pedestrian, who was hit and killed by a vehicle late Saturday night, has been identified.

It happened on Highway 17 in Pender County. The 911 call came in around 11:30 p.m.

North Carolina Highway Patrol Troopers said Brennon Sills was walking near Christian Chapel Road when an SUV hit and killed him.

The driver of the SUV was not injured. His identity has not be released at this time.

Sills, 20, was a resident of Hampstead, according to Sgt. Collier of North Carolina Highway Patrol.

The incident is still under investigation.
